11月7日 local election newsSo with this new string of voter ID laws coming into effect today, people are wondering what the impact will be on the average voter. If the governor of south carolina can be used as an example, people will face potentially significant problems getting their vote to count.
Of course, the governor cannot be used as an example of the average voter. the average voter would be challenged by republican poll operatives, sometimes to the point of harrassment or intimidation.
So we see a history of Republican activists challenging anyone with a discrepency in their ID requirements. But Sanford just had to go home, get a new form of ID and was allowed to come back and vote. In 2004, regular people were forced away and denied their vote, or they were given "placebo" provisional ballots that were never counted. In Missouri, there are already reports this morning that poll workers are demanding picture ID from voters, even though the courts already struck down that requirement. So what stops republicans from committing voter fraud through intimidation and harrassment? Apparently, you will be fine if you are a recognizable republican. If you happen to be some anonymous person in a democratic district, know your rights and stick up for yourself. demand your right to vote. don't go home without voting. 评论 (1)
